We set out early,
so as not to miss the sunrise.
Travelling West we looked ahead and saw
the morning sun caress the clouds.
Our journey had the sun follow us
until around noon,when we stopped for rest,
and a little food.
After lunch we saw our shadows, in front,
in vain we chased them all day. They lengthened,
And when we stopped at dusk, and looked back,
the sun had gone,and with it,
those black shadows which had lain upon the soil
